borrowed language returns with their third installment of genre agnostic electronics. following the explosive release of unltd & israel vines >distance no object< ep (featured in millie & andreas superb lwe podcast, and charted by the likes of dj pete & grovskopa) was no easy feat, but jeff pietro proves to be more than up to the task with this brilliant 2-track 10 inch. as with earlier releases on borrowed language, this effort exemplifies the continuing refinement of the labels aesthetic. while some influences are clearly detectable, this is not just cannon fodder, there is enough attention to detail and panache on display here to distinguish pietros take on techno/bass music from his peers. the results are polished, but not without sharp edges, brutal, but elegant, functional, but not faceless.

cool, dark underground club monsters. being a top player in the music industry is not an easy task! but with 15years in the business and over 150 releases, 50+ remixes & 300+ compilation appearances the numbers of jeffs output speak for them self’s. jeff started creating music in 1994 and got hooked on it directly, but it took until 1998 before his first single was to come out on his own label maskros music. since that single he has released on labels like poker flat, night drive music, episode, treibstoff, kickin music, konvex konkav, plastic city, global underground, regular etc.

it is spring time! fitting for this time of year, the trio of iww celebrates their first lp with housy sounds. fabian kranz, co-founder and iww-resident, sets this label debut of, together with remixes from alex q and andrea di rocco, with his new tech-house project mr. smiley guy. the a-side resembles a jazz club ambience, whereat the remix from alex q who uses dominant string instruments, which entice to dreaming and awakes spring feelings. the b-side is also dominated by warm sound and lovely vocals, with a more minimal remix from andrea di rocco.

over the course of nine albums in the 2000s for their producer-led beat generation series, bbe adopted an unusual stance. >do what you want<, their artists were told for probably the first time in their careers. the labels enormously liberal approach was the antithesis of stiff major record label a&r practices, their forward thinking rewarded handsomely by a truly diverse set of albums from some of the worlds most capable hip-hop architects.

minimalplus is an underground project that started quite a while ago and it is back with a new release. on the record minimalplus give you a legendary dutch underground dj called noes. it one of those guys who was there from the beginning. for a long time he had a solid residency at the transistor nights in the south of holland where he played with almost al big techno names like, jeff mills, joey beltram, surgeon, james ruskin, johannes heil, ben sims, robert hood, steve rachmad and the list goes on. now noes launches his first release on this underground imprint. one the aside the is hd which is like the man him self a little hyper. rolling percussion with some upwards movement. rocking but also a useful dj tool. one the bside there is the shit and it is! a rocking minimalistic rave sound, freaky sequence and easy to get a crowd going.
